Special Events


February 11th (Tokyo):  A charity event at the sumo arena.  Program features matches and various performances.  Please contact us for ticket information!

April 1st at Ise Shrine (Mie prefecture):  A ceremonial event on the grounds of the shrine.  Start time is in the morning (7:00AM, we think), ends around 3:00PM.  There are no tickets, but admission is 3,500 yen.

April 2nd in Katsuragi (Nara prefecture):  A tour event, includes full schedule of matches for the top 2 divisions.  Please contact us for ticket information!

April 3rd and 4th in Obama (Fukui prefecture):  A tour event, includes full schedule of matches for the top 2 divisions.  Please contact us for ticket information!

April 6th at Yasukuni Shrine (Tokyo):  A ceremonial event on the grounds of the shrine.  Time is about 9:00AM to about 3:00PM.  Admission is free and there are no tickets.  You can line up early if you want good seats.

April 7th in Fujisawa (Kanagawa prefecture):  A tour event, includes full schedule of matches for the top 2 divisions.  Please contact us for ticket information!

April 8th in Sano (Tochigi prefecture):  A tour event, includes full schedule of matches for the top 2 divisions.  Please contact us for ticket information!

April 29th (rumoured date, to be confirmed later!) (Tokyo):  A practice for all of the top sumo wrestlers at the main sumo arena in Tokyo, from 7:30AM-11:00AM.  There are no tickets.  Admission is free!

May 27th (Tokyo):  Retirement ceremony for a wrestler at the main sumo arena.  The schedule includes matches for the top two divisions and the ceremonial hair-cutting of the retiring wrestler, completing the retirement process.  Please contact us for ticket information!
