2024-12-17 in Tsu, Mie prefecture
The event on December 17th is at Tsu-City Sangyo Sports Center Saorina (津市産業・スポーツセンター サオリーナ). The closest stations are Tsu station (津) which is on the JR Tokai and Kintetsu lines, or Tsushimmachi station (津新町) on the Kintestu line. From these stations you can take a 10-minute taxi ride. You could also take a bus from Tsushimmachi station. For directions by train to the station, please use this useful website:
If you use the bus from Tsushimmachi station, get off at Minamikoji (南河路). It's about a 10-minute ride and about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. We recommend showing your sumo ticket to the driver to make sure you are on the correct bus.
The event begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:00pm, but you can arrive at any time. Here are the details (times are approximate):
9:00am - open practice for wrestlers
12:00pm - lower division matches, comic sumo performance, drums
1:30pm - upper division ring entrance ceremony and matches
3:00pm - bow-twirling ceremony, end of event
No shoes are allowed on the 1st floor (Ringside, Box, Arena). Bring your own slippers. You can buy them in convenience stores.
Ringside and Box are sitting on the floor and comes with souvenir cushion.
Children 3 years old and younger don't need a ticket if they don't need their own seat, but only on the 2nd floor. Children 5 years old and younger may not sit in Ringside 'S' at all.
Food/Souvenir Set contains a boxed lunch, green tea, program, and souvenir(s). If you want to eat at the event, we strongly recommend buying a food set. These events often have very limited food, or no food at all, for sale on the day. These sets do not include a ticket to enter the event.
Ticket prices include our service fee (1,600 yen for entry tickets, 500 yen for Sets) and payment fees (about 3% of ticket price).
