The event on June 7th is the Eastern Japan University Sumo Championship. The location is the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, which is the main sumo arena for professional sumo. The event combines a team event with the individual championship. Many of the best university sumo wrestlers turn pro and can be found in the top divisions of professional sumo. This is an amateur sumo event.
They only plan to open the 1st floor of the venue, which means you will be sitting in a Japanese-style Box. You may sit anywhere that is open, all seats are unreserved. The event begins at 9:00am, but the top-class event begins around 12:00pm. We recommend arriving for this part of the day. Here are the details (times are approximate):
8:30am - doors open
9:00am - lower divisions tournament
12:00pm - top-division team tournament (school vs. school)
3:30pm - individual tournament
5:00pm - event finishes, closing ceremony
Tickets are 2,000 yen each. There is only 1 price and all seats are unreserved (first come, first served). This price is face value of the ticket, we are not charging service for this event. Children 14 years old and younger do not need a ticket, but the event staff has the right to ask for ID to prove age.
