The event on August 20th is at the Kesennuma City Sogo Gymnasium (気仙沼市総合体育館), also known as K-Wave (ケー・ウエーブ). The closest train station is Kesennuma station (気仙沼) on the JR Kesennumasen-BRT line. From there you can take a taxi for 10-15 minutes. The JR Kesennumasen-BRT line is a hybrid train/bus line, so you could also change at Kesennuma for the bus on the same line, and get off at Kesennuma City Hospital station (気仙沼市立病院). The event is also planning a free shuttle bus, but the details haven't been announced yet. If you are interested in this, please contact us when the event date gets closer.
The event begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:00pm, but you can arrive at any time. Here are the details (times are approximate):
9:00am - open practice for wrestlers
12:00pm - lower division matches, comic sumo performance, drums
1:30pm - upper division ring entrance ceremony and matches
3:00pm - bow-twirling ceremony, end of event
No shoes are allowed in the venue. Bring your own slippers. You can buy them in convenience stores.
Ringside is sitting on the floor and comes with souvenir cushion.
Children 2 years old and younger don't need a ticket if they don't need their own seat. Children 5 years old and younger may not sit in Ringside 'S' at all.
Food/Souvenir Sets are available for purchase in advance. You can add them to your cart along with your seat ticket. Food sales on the day of the event will be limited, so we advise buying in advance if you want to eat at the event. Food/Souvenir Set contains a boxed lunch, green tea, and souvenirs. These sets do not include a ticket to enter the event.
Ticket prices include our service fee (2,000 yen for entry tickets, 500 yen for Sets) and payment fees (about 3% of ticket price).
