The event on October 12th is at the Ishikawa General Sports Center (いしかわ総合スポーツセンター). The closest station is Kanazawa (金沢), which is on several train lines including the shinkansen (bullet train). From there it is a 15-minute taxi ride, or you can take a bus. There is only 1 bus per hour, so it might be best to take a taxi. If you take the bus from Kanazawa station, get on the bus from the East exit (also called Kenrokuen gate) platform 2 and get off at Sogo-Sports Center-mae (総合スポーツセンター前), which takes about 45 minutes. We recommend showing your sumo ticket to the driver to make sure you are on the correct bus.
The event begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:00pm, but you can arrive at any time. Here are the details (times are approximate):
9:00am - open practice for wrestlers
12:00pm - lower division matches, comic sumo performance, drums
1:30pm - upper division ring entrance ceremony and matches
3:00pm - bow-twirling ceremony, end of event
No shoes are allowed in the venue. Bring your own slippers. You can buy them in convenience stores.
Ringside is sitting on a cushion on the floor.
Children 3 years old and younger don't need a ticket if they don't need their own seat.
Food/Souvenir Sets are available for purchase in advance. You can add them to your cart along with your seat ticket. Food sales on the day of the event will be limited, so we advise buying in advance if you want to eat at the event. Food/Souvenir Set contains a boxed lunch, green tea and some souvenirs. These sets do not include a ticket to enter the event. Also, you must order the Sets at the same time as your entry tickets, you can't add them later after we buy your tickets.
Ticket prices include our service fee (2,000 yen for entry tickets, 500 yen for Sets) and payment fees (about 3% of ticket price).
