The event on October 17th is at the Okini Arena Maishima (おおきにアリーナ舞洲). The closest station is Sakurajima (桜島), which is on JR Yumesaki line. From there it is a 15-minute taxi ride, or you can take a bus. For directions by train to the station, please use this useful website:
If you take the bus from Sakurajima station, get on the Maishima Active Bus No.2 (舞洲アクティブバス2系統) and get off at Okini Arena Maishima Mae (おおきにアリーナ舞洲前). We recommend showing your sumo ticket to the driver to make sure you are on the correct bus.
The event is also planning a free shuttle bus from Sakurajima station, but the details haven't been announced yet. If you are interested in this, please contact us when the event date gets closer.
The event begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:00pm, but you can arrive at any time. Here are the details (times are approximate):
9:00am - open practice for wrestlers
12:00pm - lower division matches, comic sumo performance, drums
1:30pm - upper division ring entrance ceremony and matches
3:00pm - bow-twirling ceremony, end of event
No shoes are allowed in the venue. Bring your own slippers. You can buy them in convenience stores.
Ringside is sitting on the floor and comes with souvenir cushion.
Children 2 years old and younger don't need a ticket if they don't need their own seat. Children 5 years old and younger may not sit in Ringside 'S' at all.
Food Sets are available for purchase in advance. You can add them to your cart along with your seat ticket. Food sales on the day of the event will be limited, so we advise buying in advance if you want to eat at the event. Food Set contains a boxed lunch and green tea. These sets do not include a ticket to enter the event.
Ticket prices include our service fee (2,000 yen for entry tickets, 500 yen for Sets) and payment fees (about 3% of ticket price).
