The event on December 8th is at the Life Partner Arena, also known as Hyogo Prefectural Total Gymnasium (兵庫県立総合体育館). The closest station is Mukogawadanchi-Mae (武庫川団地前) which is on the Hanshin-Mukogawa line. From there it's a 15-minute walk. You can also take a bus from Koshien station (甲子園), which is on the Hanshin line. For directions by train to these stations, please use this useful website:
If you take the bus from Koshien station, go to platform 7, and get on the Hanshin bus (阪神) headed for Naruohama (鳴尾浜). Get off at Kenritsusogotaiikukanmae (県立総合体育館前). From there it's about a 1-minute walk. We recommend showing your sumo ticket to the driver to make sure you are on the correct bus.
The event begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:00pm, but you can arrive at any time. Here are the details (times are approximate):
9:00am - open practice for wrestlers
12:00pm - lower division matches, comic sumo performance, drums
1:30pm - upper division ring entrance ceremony and matches
3:00pm - bow-twirling ceremony, end of event
No shoes are allowed on the 1st floor (Ringside, Box, Arena). Bring your own slippers. You can buy them in convenience stores.
Ringside and Box are sitting on the floor and come with souvenir cushion.
Children 3 years old and younger don't need a ticket if they don't need their own seat, but only on the 2nd floor. Children 5 years old and younger may not sit in Ringside at all.
Food Sets are available for purchase in advance. You can add them to your cart along with your seat ticket. Food sales on the day of the event will be limited, so we advise buying in advance if you want to eat at the event. Food Set contains a boxed lunch, green tea, and program. These sets do not include a ticket to enter the event.
Ticket prices include our service fee (2,000 yen for entry tickets, 500 yen for Sets) and payment fees (about 3% of ticket price).
